Des Moines is surrounded by urban centers, yet retains its distinct small town feel. There are spectacular views of Puget Sound, The Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. A wide variety of recreational activities and facilities are available for adults, families and children. A major marina with fuel and service, several city parks, public beaches, public boat launch, a State Park and public fishing piers are all within the city limits.

Our six miles of shoreline include public beaches, natural areas, waterfront parks, a 900 slip marina, fine dining and a popular board walk and park.

The Marina District – An old fashioned waterfront village; home to restaurants, a major grocery store and unique shops to explore in this pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Offices, medical services and a variety of other retail and service companies can also be found here. This area is adjacent to the Des Moines Marina.

 

 

Zenith Park – Just south of the Marina District and home to Saltwater State Park, Zenith Park and the Zenith Gardens. There are several Retirement facilities overlooking the water and even a 55 and older housing community. You can walk to the Des Moines Marina or take classes at the Highline Community College.

Woodmont – Just south of Saltwater State Park and just west of Hwy 99 the Woodmont area features a beautiful park, Woodmont Elementary and a public library. This community features everything from waterfront homes with community beaches, large view homes on the bluff or a simple ramblers that will satisfy every buyer’s needs.

Redondo Beach Park and Boat Ramp - Just south of Woodmont is a waterfront community with restaurants, boat launch and a fishing pier. you can enjoy a walk on the boardwalk or just relax on the sands of the beach.
